“White...is not a mere absence of colour; it is a shining and affirmative thing, as fierce as red, as definite as black...God paints in many colours; but He never paints so gorgeously, I had almost said so gaudily, as when He paints in white.” - G. K. Chesterton
Lately I have been loving the color white. This is a total shock since I am a lover of color. The color white, in essence, reflects all color so often I use white as contrast to another color. This really allows me to emphasis the other color (example is fresh white trim accentuates the wall color) . But when I say I have been loving white lately, I find myself gravitating to rooms that use minimal color. It looks very clean, cool and calming. The color white does represents purity or innocence. How great do these rooms look?
One of tricky things with decorating with all white is it can often look sterile. To avoid this, you want to use texture. All of the rooms above use texture, such as, wood paneling, chandeliers, sheer curtains on the bed or stenciled words behind the bed With the added texture elements the rooms no longer look cold and uninviting but warm and welcoming.
How do you feel about the all white rooms? Love them or hate them?
